  The Kings Royal is run at Eldora Speedway which is located near Rossburg, Ohio.  The Kings Royal, with its traditional side-by-side battles, has annually earned the reputation as one of the nations' leading sprint car events.  Eldora Speedway, home of the Kings Royal, is a half-mile clay oval where winged sprint cars can reach speeds of up to 180 MPH. 

  It is the pomp and circumstance of the Kings Royal that makes the event so special.  A trip to the legendary Eldora throne by the 40-lap feature winner to receive the crown is an experience coveted amongst those in the sprint car community.  First run in 1984, a total of 12 drivers have made that trip, led by veteran Steve Kinser with 6 wins at the Kings Royal.  Joining Kinser with multiple Kings Royal wins are Jac Haudenschild (3), Doug Wolgang (2), Sammy Swindell (2) and Dave Blaney (2), while single event winners include Donny Kreitz Jr, Bobby Davis Jr, Johnny Herrera, Dale Blaney, Mark Kinser, Joey Saldana and Jason Sides.  

  

Prelude to the Dream

     Begun in 2005 by Eldora Speedway owner and 2-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, Prelude to the Dream has played to sold-out audiences every year.  Last year's Prelude to the Dream helped to raise thousands of dollars which were used to support construction of Kyle Petty's Victory Junction Gang Camp II in Kansas City, as well as the Tony Stewart Foundation.  

     Prelude to the Dream is a unique charity event which features NASCAR and National driving stars behind the wheel of dirt late-model machines in a full blown event, complete with time trial runs, heat races and a consolation race leading up to the feature event.  Past winners of the Prelude to the Dream are 05 Kenny Wallace, 06 Tony Stewart, 07 Carl Edwards, 08 Tony Stewart.

    Past participants in the Prelude to the Dream include Kasey Kahne, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Mark Martin, Denny Hamlin, Jeff Burton, Ryan Newman, Bill Elliott, Dave Blaney, Kenny Wallace, Clint Bowyer, Ray Evernham, JJ Yeley, Robby Gordon, Aric Almirola and Bobby Labonte.   With no points or money on the line, the Prelude to the Dream just comes down to having fun, supporting a great cause and earning bragging rights for the winning driver.
